About ELN

Ex Libris Nocturnis was originally founded over ten years ago. It moved to its own server on April 4, 1999. We accept submissions for pretty much every game White Wolf has published, from the World of Darkness to the Age of Sorrows to the Scarred Lands. This section will be expanded with new and up-to-date submissions guidelines.

Staff

A lot of very talented people have expended their efforts on ELN's behalf. Here are a few:

Administration

Christopher Lee Simmons (Shadowmancer)

Founder, Editor-in-Chief, Code Whore

Named after Christopher Lee and weened on dark fantasy movies and literature, Chris never stood a chance. He is currently finishing his BA in Creative Writing at the University of South Florida. Chris began playing Vampire in its first edition, and has written for White Wolf's Scarred Lands D20 setting. Chris currently resides in Tampa, Florida with his fiancée, Kat, along with two cats and a hedgehog.

Chris can usually be found shackled to his powerbook studying, writing or banging out code for ELN. What free time he has is usually spent playing World of Warcraft.

Kat Burress (Felis)

Administrator, Art Director

The invisible force behind some of ELN's creative energies. She has been here quietly from the beginning, along with Shadowmancer and The Lighthouse Keeper. She grew up in a small town in Florida, where a lack of clubs, music stores or even movie theaters drove her to seek cheap entertainment through roleplaying. She has access to all of these things now, but would still, usually, rather roleplay or read comic books, and is glad that she has found such delightfully geeky friends as her fellow founding members to help her enjoy these hobbies. Felis enjoys things that make her feel creative, especially music, movies, and fiction of the "dark fantasy" genre. For people who demand traditional information, she has a BFA in Ceramics, and is currently living in Tampa, FL, which often masquerades as a nice little city.
In closing, Felis would like to say that she really dislikes writing biographical information, but she does enjoy referring to herself in the third person. She notes that the rest of the staff does, too.
[Editor's Note: Felis can be contacted if you're interested in prints of her work, or if you're just interested in seeing more.]

Eloy Lasanta (First Oni)

Kindred of the East, Changeling, and Reviews Editor

Eloy Lasanta has a son and a daughter. Other than that, he is married and tries to game as much as possible. He is really into Kindred of the East and Changeling: the Dreaming, with dabblings in all the others, especially the new World of Darkness. He also has no life, as he is on the boards almost 24/7, just lurking or causing trouble. First Oni is a great writer and hopes to refuel the love for the Kuei-jin (and the World of Darkness in general) in the hearts of all role-players.

PS: Sorry for the lack of a really cool picture. I'm a dork.

Editors

J. Tuomas Harviainen (Jiituomas)

Wraith, Orpheus Editor
The Finnish librarian-in-chief is a living set of contradictions. He’s a passionate pacifist with an excellent military service record. A neo-fascist who demands more civil liberties. A vegetarian hedonist. A misanthrope who also happens to be a loving family man.
In addition to the mandatory role-playing, his obsessions include Buddhism, writing, Christian dogma, tango, fetish culture, experimental music and philosophical speculation. When not tied up with any of those, he can occasionally be seen as an industrial DJ, a webzine columnist or a political activist. He sees himself as a very nice person, and is blackmailing his “friends” so that they agree with the thought.

Moderators

Zantiago Echeverri (Darksoul)

Exalted Moderator
Zantiago has lived all his life in Colombia ( South america in case you didn't know) where he began to learn how to play D&D while he tried to learn english in order to read the D&D book that was teaching him to play. As hard as that was, he's proud of having managed to get himself into RPG's and has been hooked into them since then. Through the Rage card game he got into Werewolf, and soon was storytelling all the WoD games he could find. Then, as a "fair" trade for a copy of Risen, he got the exalted and the dragon blooded books, and that game became his refuge when the WoD was over. He has a degree in Literature and is close to getting another one in electronic engineering. Aside form Exalted, he has a deep fixation with his PS2, disarming things, a violin he will never learn to play and learning written alphabets, both real and fictional.

Michael Zwiers (Michael Dracon Z)

Forum Moderator, Mage and Mummy

Michael Zwiers (that's pronounced like the letter 'e') is born and raised in The Hague, The Netherlands. And he is proud of it! He got in touch with RPGs for the first time when friends showed him (you guessed it...) AD&D. He never really liked roleplaying until in he got a taste of Vampire: The Masquerade. He's been hooked ever since Vampire Revised edition came out. His first ever experience as Storyteller spawned a Vampire game that started in November 1999 and is still running today. Only two RPGs ever made him even more enthusiastic than Vampire did, and those are Exalted and Demon: The Fallen.

Current activities are: Finishing college, trying to run and play in multiple tabletop RPGs and selling some of those books he never should have bought in the first place...

Former Staff Members

Ted Pertzborn (Monkey Love)

Vampire Editor

Ted Pertzborn was born in the hinterlands of southern Wisconsin in the summer, in some long lost ancient world. Three months later, he discovered winter, and is still upset about that whole 'snow' issue. He drives too fast, games too much, spends too much time at school and sleeps too little. He is a full-time art student in the day time, a gamer and storyteller during the night time, a comic book inker in his spare time, and in general never has enough time. He has been described as 'Jerry Seinfeld on Crack', 'The Embodiment of Road Rage, and 'That Guy With The Red Mane And The Pint Of Guinness’. He has more attitude than he knows what to do with, more White Wolf books than anyone he knows of, and wishes someone else would storytell so he could play for a change. Ted co-narrates a long term, twice weekly LARP game, and reads way too many gaming books, according to some. His hobbies include reading voraciously, watching movies, catching up on homework, collecting various stuff, gatting tattooed, enjoying a nice single malt scotch now and again, sleeping when he can, and, of course, gaming as often as possible. His life is a whirling maelstrom of uncertainty on a disturbingly regular basis. Ted, and his two cats, Beast and Monkey, live in a nice house, and all of them are quite mad. Only the insane refer to themselves in the third party, after all.
Ted is not bitter.

Perry Hamilton (Prax)

Werewolf Editor

Prax thinks of himself as primarily a storyteller. Mostly because it is easier to just say storyteller than list everything he does and it sounds cooler then student. Currently he dwells upon the Left Coast where he formally studies art, while pursuing a secret degree in the occult that the university system isn't even aware of. Prax is also the head of a secret organization that weekly seeks to escape from the grip of reality. Thus far they have been unsuccessful in completely escaping its' dark grip, but they have come very close on several occasions, so they keep trying.

Brandon Schmelz (Sunshineblind)

Exalted Editor
Coming Soon...

Michael Caneva (Sweet Corruptor)

Hunter Editor
Michael has been roleplaying almost continuously since 1992, and has been a White-Wolf snob since he discovered Vampire three years later while stationed in Germany as a tank driver in the U.S. Army. He is passionately obsessed with Vampire and Hunter and hopes to soon feel the same way about Demon. Currently living in his hometown of Denver, CO, Michael is a full time college student, a part time business owner and operator, and, at 26 years old, is starting to wonder if he'll ever actually grow up. He has a year old female dachshund named Sascha (after Vykos) in lieu of an adult relationship or responsibilities.

Shanon W. Hennessy (The Lighthouse Keeper)

Former Administrator, Editor-in-chief, Werewolf Editor
Once upon a time, Shannon's head donned just about every hat hanging on ELN's cluttered rack.

As a founding father of ELN, Shannon's contributions to the site throughout the best of times have included line-level submissions as an author and collaborator, major project development and implementation, product reviews, editing, article formatting, personnel recruitment and, in the worst of times, serving as the ham-fisted and evil bastard that held the line against critics, curmudgeons, nay-sayers, disgruntled staff members and rogues of every stripe and feather that dared take the name of Ex Libris Nocturnis in vain or challenge the site's credibility.  Eventually, Shannon's work with and vision of the World of Darkness helped him land several professional assignments with White Wolf Game Studios, working primarily within the Werewolf: The Apocalypse line.

While still contributing reviews to ELN on occasion, Shannon has moved on.  Today, he works as a CNA/EMT in Pasco County, Florida and is attending nursing school.  On his days off, and between classes, he spends his free time with his wife (Anne) and son (Zachary) field training the family dogs to hunt dragons.

While no longer a hands-on force within ELN, part of Shannon's heart is embedded within the code of the site, and therefore, his involvement in ELN is perennial.

Steve J. Larson II (Tlaloc)

Mage Editor
